How we work

A conversation first. A written proposal second.

Every engagement starts with a consultation about the problem you want solved. Pricing is set in a written proposal after that conversation, project by project, so you know what you are buying and why before anything is built.

The engagement

Six stages, each one agreed before the next begins.

You can stop after any stage and keep what has been delivered. Nothing moves forward on an assumption.

  1. 1. Consultation

A conversation about what is slowing the business down, what has already been tried and what a good outcome would look like. It is a chance for both sides to judge whether we are the right fit. If we are not, we will say so plainly.

    • The problem in your words
    • What a good result looks like
    • An honest view on fit
  2. 2. Written proposal

After the consultation you receive a written proposal: the scope, what will be delivered, the timeline and the price for this project. Pricing is set here, project by project, rather than from a rate card, because no two businesses need quite the same thing.

    • Scope and deliverables
    • Timeline
    • A price for this project
  3. 3. Discovery

Once the proposal is agreed, we look closely at how the work is done today: the people involved, the systems already in place and the data they hold. Discovery often finds a simpler answer than the one first imagined, and the plan changes to match it.

    • How the work happens today
    • Existing systems and data
    • Risks written down early
  4. 4. Architecture

We set out how the solution will fit together, where it will run and who can see what, in plain language you can check. Where data sensitivity matters, it can be hosted by a UK or EU-owned provider with no US parent, which reduces exposure to US laws such as the CLOUD Act, or run on hardware you own, where requests for your data come to you rather than to a US parent.

    • How it fits together
    • Where it runs
    • Who can see what
  5. 5. Build

Work is delivered in small, working steps that you can see and use as they land, rather than one large reveal at the end. Each release is tested before it reaches you, and anything still unfinished is labelled as such.

    • Small working releases
    • Tested before handover
    • Regular reviews with you
  6. 6. Run

Once a system is live, it needs looking after. Hosting, security patching and monitoring can be arranged as ongoing support, with the scope and response times agreed in writing to suit your business. Or we hand everything over to you with the documentation to run it yourself.

    • Hosting
    • Security patching
    • Monitoring
    • Or a clean handover

A price list answers the wrong question. The useful question is what the problem is costing you now.

Why there is no price list here.

Two businesses asking for “a booking system” can need very different things. Publishing a figure before we understand the work would either be too high for the simple case or quietly wrong for the complex one.

So pricing follows a consultation. You get a written proposal with a price for your project, and you decide with the full picture in front of you. Ongoing hosting, patching and monitoring support is arranged in writing in the same way.

Launchpad Technology is founder-led. Our founder has long experience delivering technology in regulated, high-stakes environments, and is the person you speak to at the consultation and the person who delivers the work.
